Quick question about trust , communication in relationships?

We went from being perfect to nothing at all. Yesterday we were just fine . And for the last while he has told me how much he trusted me , revealed his future , etc . (im trying to keep this short) . Now he says "he never said he didnt believe me, he just upset and needs time" all because some girls told him a huge lie about me having sex with all these guys and basically being a total whore, which says alot considering im a virgin and have only went as far as kissing a guy. Should i take that as a sign that he never cared anyway? Im sittin here being completely vulnerable and honest with him and now he wants to lean more towards believing some low-life chicks who are out to ruin everybodys life? Also said a lot considering hes had an INSANE past and i havnt judged him yet. I just feel like ive put out too much not to get half in return...
