Need help in convincing parents on Verizon ?

So I know everybodys always trying to convince there parents about getting a smartphone because everybody has one but I'm not like that at ALL. So I'm going into highschool very soon and want a blackberry to help me with papers and and research and such so its MAINLY for educational purposes and I don't have internet at home. But my mom doesn't want any extra fees and I've been trying a lot harder in school and honestly think it would help me so I don't know what to say because I do chores and I'm responsible and have the money tto pay for the phone and the internet cost so please help
